Best monitors for Canadian small businesses

A Smithville shop does not need a colour-managed suite. It needs a panel that holds Docs and Outlook, an honest CAD sticker, and USB-C that is actually a dock if you pay for a dock. US “best monitor 2026” lists skip the part that changes the invoice: Dell Canada CAD, LG.ca and BenQ.ca pages with no sticker, and the fact that a 15W USB-C hub port will not charge the laptop.

This comparison is the panels shops actually open: Dell P2425H (24" basic IPS), Dell P2725H (27" basic IPS), Dell P2425HE (USB-C hub / dock), LG 27UP850K (27" 4K USB-C), ASUS VA24EQSB (24" office IPS), and BenQ GW2790 (27" FHD IPS). Monitor prices checked against public vendor and Canadian retailer pages, 6 September 2026. This is not a colour lab.

Dell P2425H — 24" basic IPS, not a dock

Official dell.com/en-ca Dell Pro 24 Plus Monitor P2425H (part 210-BMGH): CAD $259.99, sale CAD $244.99 (save CAD $15.00) on the 6 September 2026 retrieve. Confirm the live sticker — hardware cards move. Official / datasheet: 23.8" FHD (1920×1080) IPS, up to 100 Hz, 250 cd/m² typical, 99% sRGB (vendor). HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, VGA. USB hub: Type-B upstream, three Type-A downstream, one Type-C downstream with up to 15W PD (data only). Height, tilt, swivel, pivot. That USB-C port charges a phone or accessory. It is not 90W laptop docking — that is the P2425HE. Source: Dell.

Use it for Outlook, Docs, and a browser on a shallow desk. The suite those windows sit in is Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365 in Canada. Do not buy this SKU because the listing said “USB-C” and you thought the laptop would charge.

Dell P2725H — 27" FHD, same job, bigger pixels

Official dell.com/en-ca Dell Pro 27 Plus Monitor P2725H (part 210-BMFJ): CAD $309.99. Temporarily out of stock on one retrieve. shopRBC.com printed $309.00 CAD for the same SKU. Confirm live checkout. Official: 27" FHD (1920×1080) IPS. Same class as the 24" P2425H — a larger FHD panel, not more pixels. The without-stand SKU printed CAD $319.99 on the Dell CA Full HD list. A 27" FHD panel is not a second monitor and not 4K. Buy it when the desk is deep and you want larger type. Stay on 24" if you will park two panels side by side.

Dell P2425HE — USB-C docking honesty

Official dell.com/en-ca Dell Pro 24 Plus USB-C Hub Monitor P2425HE (part 210-BMKK): CAD $409.99, sale CAD $384.99 (save CAD $25.00) on this retrieve. The without-stand SKU printed CAD $274.99 on one Dell CA list retrieve and CAD $409.99 on another — confirm the live SKU before you pay. Official ports: HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.4, DP-out with MST, RJ45 1GbE, USB-C upstream (DP Alt Mode) with up to 90W PD, three USB-A downstream, one USB-C downstream up to 15W. 23.8" FHD IPS, 100 Hz. Pay the extra when the laptop has to charge, get Ethernet, and drive the panel on one cable. MST out can feed a second display — that is Dell’s printed feature, not a dual-monitor bake-off. Two cheap HDMI 24" panels plus a cheap USB-C hub can be the same job; this page will not invent which invoice is smaller next week.

LG 27UP850K — 27" 4K USB-C, no LG.ca sticker

Official lg.com/ca_en 27UP850K-W did not print a CAD sticker on this retrieve (Buy now / Where to Buy). Canada Computers Business printed $519.99 and sold out online on that retrieve. A Newegg.ca marketplace card printed $549.99 / $425.99 plus shipping — marketplace, not LG.ca. This site will not invent an LG.ca price. Official LG Canada: 27" UHD 4K (3840×2160) IPS, DCI-P3 95% (Typ., CIE1976), VESA DisplayHDR 400, factory colour-calibrated (vendor), hardware-calibration ready via LG Calibration Studio (software not in the box). USB-C: marketing copy says up to 96W; the spec table prints 90W power delivery, 4K at 60 Hz, data, plus two USB 3.0 downstream. HDMI ×2, DisplayPort 1.4, speakers 5W×2. Tilt / height / pivot. Buy 4K when you tile a design file next to a browser, not because email looked small on a 24". The file still lives in Canva, Express, or Creative Cloud. Official DCI-P3 95% is LG’s number. This is not a calibration lab.

ASUS VA24EQSB — Canada eshop, CAD hid on retrieve

Official eshop.asus.com/ca-en lists VA24EQSB (part 90LM056F-B011B0). The eshop retrieve did not print a CAD sticker. Official FAQ: free ground shipping on orders over $39.99; “We do not ship outside of Canada.” A Canada Computers retrieve printed $197.86; a later retrieve said the listing was no longer available. Confirm live checkout — do not treat $197.86 as a locked eshop card. Official ASUS Canada eshop: 23.8" FHD IPS, 75 Hz, HDMI + DisplayPort + VGA, USB hub (2× USB-A), height / tilt / swivel / pivot, 3-year manufacturer warranty on the eshop page. Use it as a 24" height-adjust office IPS when the Canada eshop or a live retailer card is in stock. It is not a USB-C dock. Confirm CAD at checkout — this page will not invent an eshop price.

BenQ GW2790 — 27" basic IPS, retailer CAD

Official benq.com/en-ca GW2790 did not print a static CAD sticker on this retrieve (the buy widget stayed templated). Canada Computers printed $129.88 clearance (open box $123.39), sold out online, one unit at Burlington on that retrieve. Inso.ca printed $179.51 ($174.01 + $5.50 EHF). Confirm stock. Official: GW2780 is the older 60 Hz sibling; GW2790 is the named upgrade. Official BenQ Canada: 27" FHD (1920×1080) IPS, 100 Hz, 99% sRGB (vendor), two HDMI 1.4 + DisplayPort 1.2, tilt, VESA. This is the cheap 27" FHD path when Canada Computers still has the clearance card. Confirm the one-store pickup. Official: not the older GW2780 (60 Hz). Tilt-only on the Canada Computers spec block — budget an arm if you need height.

24" vs 27", and dual-monitor honesty

• 24" FHD: enough for Outlook + one Doc on a shallow desk. Official P2425H $244.99–$259.99.
• 27" FHD: same 1920×1080, larger pixels. Official P2725H $309.99. BenQ GW2790 is the cheaper retailer 27".
• Two 24" panels: two video inputs, or MST / a USB-C hub that actually daisy-chains (official P2425HE lists DP-out with MST). One 27" is not two screens.
• One 27" 4K: more pixels to tile. Still one panel. The suite does not require 4K — Workspace vs Microsoft 365.

When a basic IPS is enough

• Inbox, Docs, Sheets, Zoom: P2425H, VA24EQSB, or GW2790.
• Laptop must charge from one cable: P2425HE or LG 27UP850K. Confirm 90W vs the laptop’s wattage on the vendor page — do not invent headroom.
• Colour-critical flyers: a vendor “factory calibrated” 4K panel is still not a lab. The file is graphic design tools for Canadian small businesses.
• The paper copy is a different box: printers for Canadian small businesses. The board under the panel is keyboards for Canadian small businesses.

1. Inbox and Docs, shallow desk: Dell P2425H. Confirm $259.99 vs $244.99. That USB-C is 15W, not a dock.
2. Same job, deeper desk, bigger type: Dell P2725H at $309.99, or BenQ GW2790 if the $129.88 clearance card is actually in a store.
3. One cable to charge the laptop: Dell P2425HE. Confirm $409.99 vs $384.99 and the with-stand SKU.
4. 4K plus USB-C charge: LG 27UP850K. Confirm the live retailer card — LG.ca hid CAD here.
5. 24" height-adjust without Dell: ASUS VA24EQSB. Confirm CAD at the Canada eshop or a live retailer.
6. The windows on that panel still sit in Workspace or Microsoft 365. The flyer file is still graphic design. The board is still keyboards. The pointer is still mice. The machine is still laptops. The brick is still docking stations.
